The trends this season encompass a sense of casualty, naturality, and ease. With comfort in mind, we're seeing a slight sense of modern being added to fall staple pieces that tend to last season after season. Opt for oversized, colourful, and textured jackets or stand-out, protruding statement rings. Find simplicity in basic tees and tanks with straight-leg jeans. I’m personally finding that I’ve been leaning towards better quality investment purchases now more than ever. Never has it been more important to focus on quality over quantity; not only is it more sustainable, but easier on your wallet in the long-run and you'll find that most of the trends this season. Below are a few of our favourite trends this season:

 

Statement Jackets

I won't give up on my classic, staple jackets - but there's something about having one or two statement jackets that adds something more lively and unique to a fall closet. Dress up basics with a fun, over-the-top shearling coat or mix a striped blazer with a floral maxi dress. Choose a fun pattern, a different colour, or unique textures. It doesn't have to be something too far out there, just something maybe a bit outside of your comfort zone.

It might seem like the most simple approach to creating a cute fall outfit, but there's nothing better than pieces that are on trend that we can just throw on for any occasion. Casual Fridays at the office, heading to class, or a trip to the grocery store. Keep it classic with quality basic tanks, tees, or long-sleeves and opt for wider leg jeans as opposed to skinny for added comfort and volume.

Quality Cashmeres

One of my all time fall favourites - cashmere. One of the coziest, longest lasting, quality investments you can make. As long as you store it and wash it properly, cashmere staple pieces will last you season after season. One of my favourite pieces in the store right now is the Autumn Cashmere sweater above. Pair it with a classic trench, a pair of flared jeans and your favourite booties and you have the perfect fall outfit with a touch of fun colours.
